How fantastic to get to play with some amazing artists on my little rape comedy, Rebecca on the Bus, included as part of a slate of one-acts to close Ensemble Studio Theatre LA‘s Launchpad2017, a festival of staged readings.
Working with director Shaina Rosenthal, and actors Anna Lamadrid, Denah Angel & Tarah Pollock, was a really terrific exploration through the tricky territory of this play… which was slotted for performance just as the #MeToo Movement began.
I’m grateful to these ladies – and to the decision-makers at EST/LA – for taking a chance on this play, which I describe as a “dark comedy about a most absurd reality.” I think it has something important to say. Here’s hoping we’ll see it on many stages very soon.
