FOOTPRINT @ The Road SPF!

I’m very excited that my new play FOOTPRINT, which I began to write early last year at the National Winter Playwrights Retreat and developed through Moving Arts MADlab (with more than a little help from the Playwrights Union!) will be part of The Road Theatre Company’s 9th Annual Summer Playwrights Festival!

Working on this play has been a fantastic journey; I’m so thankful to the many talents who’ve helped along the way and am having a blast with this particular group of fearless artists…

Anna is suddenly having difficulties navigating her life in LA—is it being without a car or being stalled by a “Denver Boot of Sorrow?” And then there’s that body following her around, in a new reality where death gets up close and virtual in ways we might not expect. FOOTPRINT is a play about loss, mystery and leaving one’s mark.

I’ve been lucky enough to have had work included in past Summer Playwrights Festivals, and they’re a blast. This year is 30+ new plays with music, food and drink each evening; it’s a benefit for the theatre, so the $15 donation (or whatever you can give!) goes where it should.

SPF9 runs July 29-August 5, and involves more than a few artists I love (and you should, too), plus this year’s line-up is over 50% women playwrights AND women directors!

(And thanks again to Sara Wagner for your groovy graphic image, and Jenn Gomez for getting it out into the world!)
