FIRST PEEK: “Wound Care”

Thank you Lainnie Felan for this wonderful image!

Excited to be part of the Playwrights Union FIRST PEEK Reading Festival again with a play drafted (mostly) this past February as part of the PU’s Annual Writing Challenge…

8pm on Saturday, June 8th at City Garage Theatre, Bergamot Station Arts Center in Santa Monica.

It one of 9 plays in FIRST PEEK 2024 (honored to be in the company of such fab writers!); we’re all so looking forward to playing in City Garage‘s amazing space, surrounded by art and new play energy. There will be snacks and drinks between readings, and a toast following each night’s final reading. Info Here

Admission to all is FREE but do reserve your spot as there is very limited seating!

I’m thrilled to be working with incredible artists on this new play: Directed by Jen Bloom, Wound Care features Susan Angelo & Erin Ruth Walker, with GeorgeAnne Carden

About the play:

After meeting her troubled, recently deceased mother—who gave her up for adoption as an infant—Terra is presented with the choice to take part in a government reparations program and runs into more of life’s surreal hurdles. Wound Care is a play about searching for what will make things right, uncovering what has value and perhaps healing what you didn’t know was broken.

Thank you to all who’ve helped get the play to this point – especially the Playwrights Union Writers and Jim Klienmann and PlayGround 2023-24 Resident Writers. I hope you can join me next weekend for a FIRST PEEK

Susan Angelo & Erin Walker after read in Playwrights Union “Read-athon” weekend of new plays, early March.
PlayGround Zoom reading with actors Cindy Goldfield & April Ballesteros in late March.
