So a few years back, a guy got my name from a friend of a friend… and that’s how I got hooked up with Blake McCarty, who asked me to write a short, immersive play for his company Blindspot Collective dealing with issues affecting high school students. It ended up being a kind of dark & absurdist comedy (it’s me, after all) about prescription drug use and abuse. And it was performed as part of a project staged in schools in NY and San Diego called HALL PASS. And I kinda forgot about it.
Until I got a call earlier this year from Blake, letting me know that HALL PASS was to be included in LA Jolla Playhouse’s WOW (Without Walls) Festival, and asking would I be interested in updating “Brand New Script” and having it included.
HELL YEAH! So much fun, and many thanks to Blake and all involved for allowing me to continue with this very cool project.
