“adaptation.resilience” @ Winterfest

Hooray! Really excited that my play adaptation.resilience was chosen to be part of EST/LA’s Winterfest 2024.

The reading is at 7pm on Sunday, March 3rd at Atwater Village Theatre and I couldn’t ask for a more incredible team: Director Laura Stribling and actors Desiree Mee Jung, Lauren Campedelli, Ray Xifo, Mika Dyo and Sarah Garic.

Developing this play has been a really wonderful journey. It was written through the Road Theatre’s inaugural Under Construction playwrights group, and I am so grateful to the amazing artists who have been a part of it along the way.

Click Here to Reserve Tix and you’ll see the other plays (and writers) comprising this annual festival, playing February 24 – March 24. (I’ll be at quite a few; loving the new play energy at EST/LA!)

Jess and Bev have been together longer than either of them thought they would be. And in their respective fields—Climate Change and Emergency Management—things are heating up, affecting them in ways they didn’t see coming. adaptation.resilience is a play about sustaining love and navigating grief in times of extreme disruption.

I hope to see you there! (Or take a peek at the play, here!)

A special shout out to Brett Cassort for allowing me to use the image of his evocative painting “One Way Ticket” in connection with this play – it spoke to me the minute I saw it! (Check out his wonderful work at brettcasssort.com.)
