How fantastic to get to play with some amazing artists on my little rape comedy, Rebecca on the Bus, included as part of a slate of one-acts to close Ensemble Studio Theatre LA‘s Launchpad2017, a festival of staged readings.   Working with director Shaina Rosenthal, and actors Anna Lamadrid, Denah Angel…

Seedlings – 15 Years Later

You know how sometimes you do things because that’s what you do and you just keep doing them because no one else has stepped up and then the years pass and even though a lot of the time you find yourself asking yourself, “Why am I doing this, again?”… there…

Getting Cozy in Blank’s Living Room Series

Since last fall, I’ve been working with the #newplay-loving group at The Blank Theatre as a member of the Living Room Series “Artistic Committee.” Very fancy.  Plays are read. Playwrights are championed. Wine is consumed. It’s been a terrific experience which connects a lot of the stuff I already do…

“Rebecca on the Bus” Kicks Up HowRound PC Discussion

My good friend and colleague Tiffany Antone, creator of Little Black Dress INK, bravely ventures into the PC fray with her terrific piece in Howlround.com about her experiences after selecting my “little rape comedy” for 2014’s Female Playwrights ONSTAGE Festival. Was wonderful to see a reading at LATC, directed by Sara Israel, with a few of my favorite actors: Reena Dutt, Tracy Elliott & June Carryl.

Read the Article Here. Thanks so much, Tiffany! (And thank you Indie Theater NOW for publishing “Rebecca on the Bus” as part of LBDI’s “Planting the Seed” Collection.)

“Outside the Lines” Finalist in Waco, TX!

How fun to learn that “Chicken Shoot” has been named a finalist in this year’s Little Black Dress INK Female Playwrights ONSTAGE Project, and will be read in Waco, TX on Saturday, May 23rd, directed by Ms. Tiffany Antone. I’m included in a fantastic group of 15 inspiring women writers who’re pushing all sorts of envelopes; aptly, the theme of this year’s festival is “Outside the Lines.”  Ye haw! (Do they say that in Texas?)
